Mud Mucking in My Renegades

Image
From yesterday’s adventure – PINECREST CANYON – in UTAH!

Myself and Ellie, the Wonder Dog – who, clearly, does not love selfies.

We chased the mud. Without my waterproof Renegade GTXs – making it back to the trail would have been total misery.

We trudged a half-mile through run-off waters to get back to high-ground.

Thanks, LOWA!

Camino de Santiago

Image
These boots became my closest friend while hiking the Camino to Santiago, first 200 kilometers along the Pyrenees Foothills route and then over 800 kilometers on the Camino Frances.

They were, and continue to be, the best hiking boots I have ever had. Walking 25-30 kilometers a day is tough on the feet. Although I am 60, I really feel my Lowa's allowed me to cruise with much younger walkers.

Blister's cause many pilgrims to rest and heal for 2-3 days along The Way. Not me. I walked pain free for nearly 50 days.

I look forward to many more months of use with these terrific boots. I am just writing to acknowledge your company for an exceptional product.

Irkutsk, Russia… Siberia!

Image
From 2003 to 2016, my wife and I lived in a small city in the Al Buraimi desert in the United Arab Emirates. For 13 years we enjoyed an uninterrupted summer of swimming, short sleeves and sandals. It was fun while it lasted, but we felt we needed a bit of a change, so we applied for a job that could send us anywhere in the world.

We couldn’t believe it when we were offered a posting in Irkutsk, Russia… Siberia!

Of course, we took it. The biggest challenge for us was to purchase a completely new warm, functional wardrobe to help us live in an environment that couldn’t be any more different from the one we were moving from.

Our contacts in Russia told us we really needed to be mindful of the footwear we planned on bringing. Not only did our shoes and boots have to keep our feet warm when temperatures dropped to -30 or more, but they also had to have a good tread as the sidewalks and streets are covered in snow and ice from October to April.

Luckily, my wife did a lot of research and, a…

Badass Boots!

Image
In 2014 I bought my first pair of women's Lowa Renegade Mid GTX® black boots, and I've gotten myself a new pair every year since!

On pair number 3 right now.

They've been with me on almost all my USA adventures from Colorado to Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico.

They've traveled with me all the way to the Philippines, Borneo, Malaysia, and on my solo 3 week trek of Nepal's Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas.

As long as you guys keep making this perfect boot, I will keep using it! It's such good quality that I have never felt the need to try another brand.

All 3 of my pairs have been totally waterproof, extremely comfy even after days or weeks of wearing them every day on hikes, and very good quality.

And I can't leave out the fact that they're also just very badass looking.

THANKS LOWA!
